The Red Pine Inn
The Past
The Red Pine Inn was purchased in 1975 by Ken and Win Nelson
with just 15 rooms, (Room 02 to 17) with only 9 of them finished!
Since then it has been guided by it's founding vision: To
provide clean, comfortable and affordable rooms for all it's
guests, in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
In 1976, the Red Pine Inn started
to expand by adding 5 rooms (rooms 18 to 23), 6 more rooms in
1977 (rooms 24 to 28), as well as an outdoor swimming pool.
In 1981, an additional 13 rooms (rooms 129 to 141) were added
to the rapidity growing facilities. These rooms were efficiency
units complete with kitchen facilities and all the needed utensils.
In 1985, the Red Pine Inn underwent
it's largest expansion to date, with the addition of 42 cozy
rooms. (Two storey convention centre, rooms 143 to 221). 1986
brought the addition of the new closed pool and recreation facilities,
as well as the restaurant being enlarged and refurnished. The
Pine Room Restaurant is now licensed and seats up to 88 people,
and for your enjoyment there is a licensed patio complete with
umbrellas which are perfect for any occasion, especially people
who are looking to escape the office atmosphere on their lunch
breaks.
In 1997, the Nelson Banquet &
Conference Centre, which holds up to 150 people and is available
for weddings, anniversaries and a variety of other social functions
was established.
More recently in 1999, the Red
Pine Inn has added 11 new efficiency units (room 401 to 411),
one of these being a suite complete with a fireplace and a king
size bed.
In spring 2000, the large meeting
room (143), was divided into two separate bedrooms.
